i have noticed a shit ton of these post links are dead, i’m gonna fix that upon my return home from ca to va.

i am in california right now, and it rules.

i have been eating tons of delicious vegan delights although i will not conform to that lifestyle.

first night in, crystal star presented dinner for andrew and i which consisted of steamed corn w/ black pepper, vegan meatloaf and vegan pita pizza.

so good.

this afternoon for brunch andrew and i made scrambled tofu w/green/red peppers,jaleps,red onion,vegan chorizo,fake sour cream. goddamn.

also enjoyed that with some buds.

First off DFL stands for Dead Fucking Last.
This 2nd album got released in 1995 on Epitath Records.
But don’t stop reading already,no melodic traces like NOFX,Bad Religion or Down By Law can gladly be found here.

Instead your ears wringle with sheer hardcore energy in the spirit of untamed hardcore.20 un-relenting basic and trashy sounding tracks featuring pure angry adolescent driving guitars and vocals are featured on this CD.I don’t think that an LP version exists.What a pity…

The songs really sound like the hardcore/punk stuff the Beastie Boys did (Pauls Boutique 7″,Aglio e Olio CD,or the “Heartattack Man”,”Tough Guy”,”Time for Living” tracks).
“Club stupid” was recorded live in Las Vegas in 1995 and the announcements of the singer sound just hilarious to me:

United Nations is a fairly recent band featuring Geoff Rickley from Thursday and Darly Palumbo from Glassjaw (in addition to a few other dudes in bigger hardcore/post-hardcore bands). It is basically a side-project that was created to incorporate a mix of screamo and grindcore stemming from musical influences during their youth. Since they have released this LP they have gotten a lot of shit, especially for their band name and logo which resulted in the elimination of their myspace and facebook pages.

They play on recording and releasing more music in the feature.

Sardonis

Fellow worshippers of the riff, Sardonis is a two-man army from Belgium. This 7″ promo is only four songs long, clocking in at about fifteen minutes, but in it Sardonis manages to display a broad array of styles–some thick fuzzed-out sludge/doom riffs hang in the air on all tracks, especially Nero D’avola and Sick Horses. Skullcrusher AD carries a bit more of a stoner groove, and the uptempo beat of MOR emphasizes this sound. But these labels constrict the overall progressive possibilities that unfortunately come to an end much too soon on this EP. Sardonis is said to be recording a full-length, which hopefully extends upon the interesting amalgamation they’ve put together and allowed us to sample.
